So why so much talent in such a small place? Well, for starters there’s our environment. It’s some of the most interesting and spectacular geography on the planet. With dozens of lakes, rivers and mountains. And some of the most interesting and exciting things to do. Like skiing, boating, fishing, camping and hiking, to name a few.

Then there are the extraordinary little towns our art and artists call home. Historic places with amazing stories, people and architecture. Not to mention B & Bs, restaurants and cultural venues.

Ask anybody who’s visited Grass Valley, Nevada City or Truckee. Most can’t wait to come back.

Throughout the year, a surprising amount of art happens here. In dozens of galleries and studio tours. In film and music festivals. And, of course, live theater.
